ASUU DISRUPTS LECTURES AT UNIBEN

The University of Benin was in a kind of chaos today Monday December 9th as members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities, (ASUU) UNIBEN chapter disrupted an ongoing lecture at the Faculty of Law at the university.

Some UNIBEN lecturers resumed last week following the Federal Government’s directive to resume work and as one lecturer gathered his students to begin his class, The Union members stormed the lecture room and stopped it.

The Vice Chancellor of the University was forced to call the police to intervene but the unrelenting ASUU task force members clashed with them, putting an end to all on-going lectures at the University which is a makes it a true fact that the strike still continues.

A South African magazine,''Blaque'' some time ago published an issue entitled 'Men in Heels: Understanding A (Wo)man Better'',that features men wearing women's shoes in order to celebrate ''women's month''.Some anti gay groups call it a gay action but there is no indication at all that the men are actually homosexual.Homosexuality is frowned upon in Africa and in Nigeria,it carries a prison sentence of fourteen years.But what these men are trying to portray is understanding the ordeals and feelings of women and how best to approach them afterall and also trying to see things from the perspective of the female folk,''IT IS ONLY THE PERSON WHO WEARS THE SHOES THAT KNOW WHERE IT PINCHES''
